Green Labs Event – A Recording For You

A Personal Note For You

Hi Reader, you can now watch the recordings!

Below, you will find the link and some extra materials.

> As a thank you for your interest, I am preparing 1 more message and one email with all resources set up for you.

PS: I write a weekly educational newsletter that helps you learn about greener labs by investing just 5 minutes a week.

“Your short lessons are packed with clarity and insight,” Niranjan.
“I really appreciate your amazing work” said Prisca.

So you don’t have to take my word for it! 😊

I’d be happy to stay in touch through these lessons because I found it to be the best way to make sure you never feel alone on this journey!

Greener Labs Recording

Our event finished well. Now you can watch all the talks on YouTube.

- Watch The Recording Here -

You will find all talks divided by chapters so you can conveniently jump around.

An Overview For You

Of course, the first 20 minutes contain my short talk in which I shared everything I think you need for a greener lab.

However, here is an overview of all the 30 min talks:

What It Needs For A Sustainable Lab But Nobody Talks About
10 Ways In Which You Can Make Your Lab More Sustainable
Proving That You Can Reuse Items In The Lab
An Important Opportunity Few Know About

What Are Bioplastics? Which Are Safe To Use?

How To Find The Greener Items, Instruments & Chemicals
Practical Experiences & Tips To Finally Change Culture

The First Resources For Education & Training Of Students

And now, I have assembled special and requested resources:

A Unique Project

I was extremely excited that Labcon dedicated its talk to a topic few companies discuss: the reusability of tubes!

As far as I know, they were the first to switch from Styrofoam to cardboard packaging and the first to develop a refill system.

And now, they are the first to share their slides and more importantly their application note, which shows how their tubes can be reused multiple times!

Promoting Sustainability in the Lab

On October 15th, Gaya Kasi from Corning Life Sciences presented:

"10 Ways to Boost Lab Sustainability"

Below, you can find a summary poster to keep as a reminder.

Moreover, this white paper provides an overview of sustainability challenges and explores solutions for waste management - without compromising efficiency or cost.

For Your Colleauges & Students

I have teamed up with the IUBMB to help bring sustainability to your colleagues and students.

The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is a non-profit organization that unites scientists worldwide.

They have six journals (with revenues reinvested into events and educational programs) and one focuses on education.

Therefore, I am happy to share the first compilation of resources for everyone who teaches classes, mentors students, or has colleagues curious about sustainability.

I also recorded a short explanatory video for you - and all the resources are completely free to use.

See You Soon!

Already working on more topics like how to make change happen safely or the environmental impact of Bioplastics.

If you like to learn more about these topics, happy to have you join our Sustainability Snack!
